Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said today that the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, and the so-called Kosovo police are taking revenge against Serbs instead of going in the direction of de-escalation, and are behaving in a contrarian manner just to provoke the Serbs and create a new crisis, because that's the only thing that suits them.

He told TV Pink, regarding yesterday's arrest and then release of a young man of Serb nationality on the Bistrica Bridge, that he was arrested and abducted, and not brought in for an interview as they said, as evidenced by the fact that he was handcuffed when he was put into a van and taken to the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.

"This is an athlete who is guilty only of being a Serb. Although the police said that he was detained for an interview, it is known that Serbs are regularly stopped there and harassed. Shots were fired from that bridge on several occasions. They put handcuffs on him. If he is a witness, how can they act like that? It was an actual arrest, that is, an abduction of a young man who is 'guilty' of running a kickboxing club," said Petkovic.

He stressed that the call of the EU to urgently withdraw the police from and around municipal buildings, that the so-called mayors do their work from other premises and that absolutely everything should be done to bring about normalization and form the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) - means nothing to Pristina.

"Instead of going in that direction, the opposite is happening. He (Kurti) doesn't want any peace, he wants to make the situation difficult," said Petkovic.

He added that since the beginning of the year, six Serbs have been wounded, and over 10 have been arrested.

"They are also getting arrested south of the Ibar and accused of alleged war crimes even though there is no evidence," said Petkovic.

"West does not want to see their baby is actually a monster"

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic also said today that Serbia has always been a responsible party that has always responded to the invitations from EU's Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak, unlike Pristina, which refused to do so.

He told Pink TV that Kosovo is a baby of the West, and that the West does not want to see that this baby is a monster, which makes decisions that contradict the UN Charter and that disrupt peace and stability in the entire Western Balkans.

"Those from the West who are strong and powerful and make many important decisions are the ones who say Kurti is mischievous, but he is the prime minister in Pristina, elected by citizens, he has his mandate. They say so because they let him behave like that," said Petkovic.

Speaking about the new round of high-level dialogue, Petkovic stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic immediately accepted that invitation, like all the previous ones.

"It's important to talk and we will do so and once again explain the position of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. We are not responsible for the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and Kosovo everywhere in the world says that we are to blame and they lie and lie. It is clear that Kurti is not alone, we are not naive, will continue to lead our independent freedom-loving policy ensuring a better life and future for our Serbs, for our children who started school today," said Petkovic.

Asked about a fake photo purporting to show the leader of the Serb List, Goran Rakic, he said that in was a case of making Jeff Bezos the president of the Serb List.

"It was a photo edit by a Serb published on social networks, and then some ambassadors began to get involved. And Rakic did not go to the seaside for two years, his mother passed away in August, and before that he was with her and with the Serb people protesting against the fake mayors. It wasn't just on social networks, it was immediately picked up by the Pristina media, which speaks of their connection with the Serbs who are working against their country and the Serb List. Why are you trampling on your own people," asked Petkovic.
