Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was in Petrovac-na-Mlavi when he, answering a journalist's question, said that if elections are wanted, they (the opposition) will have them sooner than they think, and will lose again.

"I've been hearing for days, you heard how they threatened me 15 days ago that if I called elections, 'Serbia will stop'. They changed their mind yesterday, now they want elections at any cost. If they clearly express their will and desire for elections, they will have them faster than they think and will lose again and with a more convincing margin than last time," the president said.

On his Instagram account, he thanked the citizens who welcomed him today and noted that the state will continue to invest.

"Thank you for the wonderful welcome. A job well done in a very short time. I am satisfied with the new bridge on the Mlava River, which was completed in three months. This bridge is crucial for the whole of Petrovac and its surroundings, as well as for all citizens in Petrovac-na-Mlavi.

We will continue to invest, build and work in order to get our people from abroad back to Petrovac. I would like those people, who learned how to work abroad, who are responsible and serious to decide to return to their country, so that we can continue building our Serbia together. Thank you for the tremendous support you have provided during each big job. We are facing not in the least an easy period ahead, so it is good for us to be able to build and work and secure the future for our children," the president wrote.
