Scandal: Croatian author compares Serbs to bugs, says we should be eradicated
Slavica Stojan, a Croatian literary historian, writer and member of the Presidency of the Matica Hrvatska institution, has compared Serbs "to bugs that you cannot exterminate."
According to Index, Stojan said this in an interview for DuList, talking about Serbia's alleged claims on cultural heritage, which she considers to be Croatian.
Disgracefully comparing Serbs to "annoying insects" Stojan called the members of the nation "predators who lurk from the border and who should be removed by squashing, poisons and flamethrowers." By the way, DuList gave the interview with Stojan the front page.
"Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs send them protest notes. However, they ignore that and you simply cannot remain immune to it. I recently remembered a phenomenon in nature that drove me crazy. It's about bugs that in terrible infestations persistently for years try to flood houses and yards and interior spaces. They also flood the streets," she continued.

"The bugs that, when they attack, are very difficult to remove, no matter what method you use, squashing them with your feet, poison, flamethrower. When something like that gets into the house, you have to seriously fight or leave the house. There is no way that anyone could get out of the house. You have to fight the bugs, never let them overrun the house, crawl on the table and on the bedclothes, but eradicate them patiently and permanently," said Stojan.
"After a number of years of a successful struggle and overcoming their invading strategy, they disappeared. I don't know if permanently, but they disappeared from my house and they have been gone for a long time. The same with the predators that lurk from our border. One must not relax. They are a type of aggressive-invasive species that simply doesn't give up. Just like those bugs, which crawl into the house. That's why we have to act," said Stojan.
"These are people from whose announcements and statements, you can above all discern their cultural and civilizational level of development. They do not give up on our space. They have an omnipresent insatiable thirst for space," Stojan said.
"Who among civilized nations today, in this world, is obsessed with grabbing space. At least today we live unencumbered, free, we can live wherever we want, after one earns one's money honestly. If you want to be at sea, go to the sea, swim, pay for the hotel, the weekend home, you can spend the whole summer at the sea", she concluded.
