Prime minister of Singapore congratulates Brnabic on Serbia joining Treaty of Amity
Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong has congratulated Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic on Serbia's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) and pointed out that this will contribute to the two countries strengthening cooperation in areas such as digitalization, sustainable development, smart cities and food safety, Tanjug has learned from the Government of Serbia.
In November of last year, Brnabic paid an official visit to Singapore and on that occasion, among others, she met with the president of that country, Halima Jakob, and the minister of National Security, Theo Chee Hean.
She also visited one of the largest centers for research and development, Biopolis, which provides space for biomedical research and development activities and promotes cooperation between the private and public sectors, and was also the inspiration for the BIO4 campus in Serbia.
During her two-day visit to Singapore, President Brnabic also spoke with the chairman of Boston Dynamics, Marc Raibert, one of the world's best known robotics companies.
The meeting discussed the opening of a research and development branch of this company in Serbia, and Raibert announced the establishment of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, which enables potential cooperation with our Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence and our scientists.
Brnabic stressed that IT is the fastest growing sector in Serbia and reminded that Serbia has done a lot in the past 10 years in terms of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and blockchain technology.
The prime minister also spoke with a delegation of Temasek, a state-owned company from Singapore, which manages more than 450 billion dollars in the artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies sectors.
The main topic of this meeting was artificial intelligence.
