Did a top police officer have links with the Gradacac murderer?

Yesterday, the Chief Prosecutor's Office and the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton (MUP TK) in Bosnia-Herzegovina held an emergency meeting where they discussed the actions of the institutions in connection with the reported crime of domestic violence regarding the case of Nizama Hecimovic, who was murdered by Nermin Sulejmanovic on Friday, August 11, with the killer streaming the murder live on Instagram.

Sulejmanovic then killed two more people, wounding three others, and then, after a police search for him that lasted hours, committed suicide.

However, it is now being determined which of the MUP TK members informed Sulejmanovic of the whereabouts of Nizama Hecimovic, who was hiding (after a previous case of domestic violence against her) with her aunt, and what the role of DZ.S., a female police officer from the Gradacac Police Department, was in the whole story, writes Avaz.

Avaz further reports that speculation that Sulejmanovic and the policewoman had an affair has been unofficially confirmed, and that it is also suspected the policewoman was the one who gave him information from the investigation and allegedly told him where Nizama and her toddler were hiding.

Telegraf.rs has not been able to confirm these allegations.

According to Avaz, the policewoman is no longer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and could be suspended and face disciplinary proceedings if it is established that she was in a relationship with a person who had a criminal record.

Namely, Sulejmanovic had past convctions for various criminal acts, among other things, he was found guilty about fifteen years ago for attempted murder, which the policewoman allegedly knew.

Avaz said it learned that the police and the Prosecutor's Office are investigating another police officer who is also said to have had links with Sulejmanovic. They say this is a high-ranking inspector working at the Gradacac police station.

This person, the investigators suspect, has been in contact with Sulejmanovic for a long time. They even went to the gym together, and for a time the killer was also his trainer.

Avaz also writes that the daughter of this police officer was friends with Sulejmanovic, but that she deleted all the relevant photos two days ago.

The MUP TK said it does not want to disclose any details in the interest of the ongoing investigation.
