"This is your country, Serbia always waits for you": Vucic with young athletes from Kosovo, RS and diaspora

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today received young athletes from Kosovo and Metohija, the Serb Republic (RS), and the diaspora - participants of the "Serbia is Calling You 2023" camp.

The meeting took place at the Palace of Serbia.

"Dear children, wonderful young people, thank you. We are proud that so many children are coming to Belgrade, that you do the most beautiful things, that you show so much love for our Serbia. My father is originally from the other side of the Drina River and they always sang there, 'Oh, Serbia, dear mother, I will always call you that'," said the president.

"I also want to thank our (youth) basketball national team players present here. Those who play sports know very well how to lose, but they also know that winning is always the goal. Children, don't set small goals for yourselves, don't engage in gossip, your dedication will always be seen. When you work, then you will reach the highest goals. Dream big, when you don't, you can hardly achieve anything. With the Expo (2027) ahead of us, we have announced extremely ambitious goals," added Vucic.

Speaking about perseverance, the president also mentioned Belgrade Waterfront.

"When we fought for Belgrade Waterfront, (the location) was thickets and vipers' nests. Imagine if we had given up. If we had listened to those (opposed to the project). That's why one has to rely on oneself. We will do everything we set out to do, because we have enough strength and will."

"This is your country, Serbia is always waiting for you. Long live Serbia!," Vucic said at the end.
