"In order to intensify the economic cooperation between Serbia and Egypt, we are working rapidly to successfully conclude negotiations on a bilateral free trade agreement," stressed Serbian Minister of Trade Tomislav Momirovic after he met, during his official visit to Egypt, with Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmed Samir Saleh.

"I think we can finish that work by the end of the year," added the minister.

Momirovic stressed that political relations between the two countries have deep roots and that it is time to turn them into growing trade.

"When we sign the free trade agreement in the presence of our two presidents, we will open a new chapter in the cooperation between our two countries," the minister pointed out.

During today's conversation, an important step was taken towards building stronger relations between Serbia and Egypt, with the aim of enabling even better conditions for improving overall bilateral, especially economic ties and trade cooperation.

"We had a really good meeting and jointly concluded that we have to give a new perspective to our companies and must increase trade between our two countries," concluded Momirovic.

During the day, the minister also met with Egyptian businesspeople, who were presented the potentials of investing in Serbia, while the strengthening of cooperation, investments and trade between the two countries was also discussed.
