"We kept each other's spirits high" - Dalibor's speaks after getting released from jail in so-called Kosovo
Dalibor Spasic (35) from Kosovska Mitrovica, a medical technician in the local clinical hospital center, and a DJ known by the nickname "DJ Daka" was released yesterday pending the outcome of his trial.
After being released from custody, Dalibor said that he did not believe that something like this could happen to him.
"Those who haven't been to jail don't know what it's like. We were all in separate cells, but we kept our spirits up and avoided talking about what we were there for, because the hardest thing for all of us was knowing that we were not guilty of anything, yet there we were, in custody. I didn't believe that this could happpen to me either," Spasic said after leaving the high-risk prison in Grdovac near Podujevo, Novosti reports.
Spasic was released pending the outcome of the trial after his attorney Srdjan Mitrovic posted bail.
As lawyer Mitrovic said, the judge for the preliminary proceedings rejected the prosecution's request to extend Dalibor's detention and accepted the defense's request to release the defendant.
Dalibor adds that he is grateful to all the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who provided them (the recently arrested Serbs) with support from the outside, because it meant the world to them.
