President Vucic welcomes Montenegrin counterpart Milatovic in front of the Palace of Serbia
President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, who is on an official visit to Serbia, was formally welcomed in front of the Palace of Serbia today, with the sounding of national anthems, a red carpet and the Serbian Army Guards. He was welcomed by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
Serbian Government ministers were also present at the ceremony. Afterwards, the two presidents had a face-to-face meeting, while a plenary discussion of the delegations of the two countries, led by Vucic and Milatovic, followed.
This is the first visit to Serbia of a Montenegrin president in seven years. Milatovic arrived on an official two-day visit on Sunday, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic hosted a dinner in his honor last night.
Previously, during a ceremonial reception in the Montenegrin House in Belgrade, Milatovic said that, after visiting EU institutions and NATO headquarters in Brussels, he was coming to Belgrade "with the intention of contributing to the revitalization of political relations between the two countries."
Milatovic will today also meet with President of the Serbian National Assembly Vladimir Orlic, and according to announcements, he will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala, and place flowers in front of the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School.
