Latest on condition of the father and 2-year-old son who swallowed hydrochloric acid
The condition of the father (28) and son (2) from Pirot who got poisoned two nights ago with what is suspected to have been hydrochloric acid, is still unchanged, Telegraf.rs has learned at the University Clinical Center (UKC) in Nis.
In the night between Monday and Tuesday, they were first admitted to the General Hospital in Pirot, and from there they were transferred to the University Hospital in Nis.
As we were told yesterday at UKC Nis, both the father and the son were in intensive care units.
"Patient M.J. (28) was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Department of Endocrinology, University Hospital Nis. He was admitted with severe corrosive changes to the esophagus and stomach, caused by swallowing hydrochloric acid. All diagnostic procedures were performed and all therapy was given according to the protocol. At the moment, his vital parameters are stable, he is conscious, but due to the degree and types of injuries, he is considered to be in a life-threatening condition," the University Clinical Center Nis said yesterday.
At the same time, the boy (2) was in the intensive care unit of the Pediatric Clinic of the University Hospital Nis, where a whole team of doctors constantly monitors his health.
"Currently, his vital parameters are stable and complete therapy was administered according to the protocol. Due to the specificity of injuries-burns and corrosive changes to the skin of the face and mouth, doctors will decide on further procedures and the course of treatment in the coming days."
This morning the Nis clinic that their condition had not changed.
