Serb List: Fake incidents aimed at creating alibi for presence of special Kosovo police in Serb areas

The Serb List announced that, on behalf of the Serb people, it strongly condemns the incident that happened last night when unknown persons threw what was probably a stun grenade near the Tri Solitera neighborhood in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, reports Kosovo Online.

The Serb List points out that they are convinced this was done on purpose in order to justify the increased presence of armed special forces and armored vehicles that were on the streets of northern Kosovska Mitrovica last night after this incident, intimidating citizens.

"Throwing firecrackers or similar pyrotechnics is not a crime in itself, but what worries us is that faking such incidents is aimed at creating an alibi for the presence of Kurti's special forces in Serb areas, and the continued repression against our people, as well as unfounded arrests," said the Serb List.

They stress that the stun grenade was thrown in an area under surveillance of special units of the Kosovo police.

"We want to inform the public that even in case the alleged discovery of a weapon in a vehicle and a bomb being allegedly thrown near the municipal building was true, it is interesting that this stun grenade was thrown in an area that has been under complete control of Kurti's special units for weeks," said the Serb List.

They repeated the request to KFOR and EULEX to strengthen their presence in Kosovska Mitrovica, in order to prevent what they consider fake incidents.

"That is why we repeat the request to KFOR and EULEX to strengthen their presence in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, especially in Kosovska Mitrovica in order to prevent these fake incidents, which, we repeat, Kurti's regime is skillfully using as an alibi to justify the presence of para-police units, harassment of the Serb people and arrests of Serbs," the statement said.
