Details of attack on honorary consulate of Serbia in Khartoum: Paramilitary forces carried out robbery
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy of Serbia in Cairo, which covers Sudan on a non-residential basis, was informed that the building, which also houses the premises of the Honorary Consulate of Serbia with headquarters in Khartoum, was the target of an armed attack and robbery by the Rapid Support Force (RSA) paramilitaries.
"In the attack, security workers at the property in question were lightly injured," Tanjug was told by the Serbian ministry.
It is added that the honorary consul of Serbia in Sudan, Ahmed Abdel Moneim Abdel Mouti, was not in the facility at the time of the attack.
"Bearing in mind the armed conflicts in Sudan, the attack on this facility is just one in a series of numerous attacks of this kind by the aforementioned paramilitary forces carried out against diplomatic missions, including those of Qatar, China, Saudi Arabia, the US and others," the ministry's statement said.
