Palma: Basta has deadline to resign, as far as JS is concerned he's no longer party member or cabinet minister
The request to sack Rade Basta has also been submitted to the Serbian Government
United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan "Palma" Markovic said today that Rade Basta has been given a deadline to resign and that they no longer consider him a member of that party.
"Rade Basta has been given a deadline to resign from all positions which he holds thanks to United Serbia's proposals, which includes that of minister of economy in the Government of Serbia. I remind you that at the session of the Presidency of United Serbia, which was held on April 10 in Jagodina, a unanimous decision was made to remove Radet Basta from the position of the party's vice president.
The reason for this change in the party and the request for changes in the Government of Serbia is as follows: Rade Basta's statements that Serbia should introduce sanctions against Russia, and that all ministers in the Government of Serbia should join protests in Belgrade, which are diametrically opposed to the United Serbia program and the state and national policy implemented by the Government of Serbia.
In any country in the world, if a minister disagrees with the state policy implemented by a cabinet of which they are a member, they resign. As far as United Serbia is concerned Rade Basta is no longer a member of the party and as far as United Serbia is concerned Rade Basta is no longer a minister in the Government of Serbia," JS leader Dragan Markovic said, and added that the request to sack Rade Basta has also been submitted to the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
