SERBHUNGAS: This will be the name of the joint gas company of Serbia and Hungary

The Government of Serbia made a decision on granting prior consent for the establishment of a joint enterprise between Serbia and Hungary for gas - SERBHUNGAS d.o.o.

"Prior approval is given for the establishment of SERBHUNGAS d.o.o. Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia, in accordance with Decision No. 01-04-35/187-9, which was adopted by the Supervisory Board of the Public Company Srbijagas, Belgrade, at its meeting held on April 25, 2023," it is stated in the government decision signed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, published by the Official Gazette.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali told Tanjug that today, during a meeting of the Strategic Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary in Palic, an agreement will be signed on the establishment of a joint venture between Srbijagas and the Hungarian electricity company MVM regarding joint participation in the Serbian market when it comes to gas trade.

Mali said that a large number of agreements will be signed today to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

"We will sign several very important agreements: on cooperation in the field of customs, exchange of information, and we are working on this additionally when it comes to VAT, in the field of road infrastructure development, then in the field of defense, and in connection with internal affairs.

And what is particularly important to me, we will sign an agreement on the construction of an oil pipeline that will connect our refinery in Novi Sad with Hungary, which gives us the opportunity to, in addition to the (oil pipeline) Janaf which goes through Croatia, get crude oil for our refineries through the Druzhba oil pipeline, which goes through Hungary," said Mali.
