Recently, Novak Djokovic managed to break the record and become the GOAT of tennis by winning at the French Open, his 23rd Grand Slam title. However, before that tournament, a bit of strange news appeared, namely that he decided to return the Novak Tennis Center to the city of Belgrade.

He soon issued a statement, explaining why he decided to make that move. In the meantime, history was written in Paris, and now Novak's father, Srdjan, has published his own statement saying that he wants the family to regain ownership of the Tennis Center, located in Belgrade's Dorcol neighborhood.

We carry Srdjan Djokovic's statement in its entirety.

"After the expressed intention of Novak Djokovic and his company to withdraw from the partnership with the city regarding the business and activities of the tennis court 'Novak' at the tennis courts 'Milan Gale Muskatirovic', I am informing the media that, in consultation with my family, I am ready to either personally or through some of the companies in ownership, continue cooperation with the city regarding the business and activities of the tennis center.

In the shortest possible time, we will offer the city some modalities of cooperation or public partnership that would enable this tennis center to continue to perform the activity for which it is intended, to benefit tennis in Belgrade and Serbia. We hope that the city leaders will respond positively to this initiative of ours, for the sake of the future of tennis."
