The government of Kosovo made a decision last evening to ban vehicles with Serbian license plates from entering Kosovo, announced the government spokesman Perparim Krieziu, reports Kosovo Online.

Krieziu told Radio Free Europe that the government, after the arrest of three members of the Kosovo police by the Serbian authorities, decided to increase the level of border controls.

"For security reasons, the institutions decided to increase the level of border controls. Therefore, as an urgent step, it was decided to ban the entry of vehicles with Serbian license plates into Kosovo, while the analysis of the situation by the security institutions continues. The next steps will be taken based on the recommendations of law enforcement institutions," he said.
