Vucic welcomes president of India in front of Palace of Serbia: Two leaders meet for talks
The president of India arrived in Belgrade yesterday
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic hosted a formal welcoming ceremony for President of India Droupadi Murmu in front of the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade.
She was welcomed with the highest state honors, a red carpet, the Guard of the Serbian Army, and the sounding of the two countries' anthems.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabakovic, President of the Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez, and the visiting Indian delegation.
After this, the two presidents were scheduled to have a meeting in a narrower format, while plenary talks between the delegations of the two countries started at 11 am.
Statements for the media by presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Droupadi Murmu, as previously announced by the press service of the president of Serbia, are planned for 11:55 am, while a Serbian-Indian business forum will be held afterwards.
The president of India arrived in Belgrade yesterday, on an official visit to Serbia, where she will stay until tomorrow.
This is the second country that Murmu has officially visited since taking office in July last year.
