Lajcak: We are deeply concerned about the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija

EU's special representative for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak announced today, after he and US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar last night met with the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, that they are deeply concerned about the situation in the north of Kosovo.
"US envoy Gabriel Escobar and I met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and First Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi. We are deeply concerned about the situation in the north and call for immediate de-escalation on the ground, early elections with the participation of Kosovo Serbs and return to dialogue on normalization," Lajcak wrote on Twitter.

On Monday evening, after the meeting with Kurti, Lajcak said that he and Escobar asked the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina to calm down the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, hold new elections and return to dialogue.
