Borrell: 3 clear demands - new elections, participation of Serbs and ZSO, otherwise there'll be consequences
EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell said last night that in talks with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the president of so-called Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, he presented three demands - new elections in the north, ensuring the participation of Serbs in them and starting work on the establishment of the community of municipalities with a Serb majority, stating that otherwise there would be serious consequences on relations with the EU.
"I sat down with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, I spoke with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, about the dangerous situation in Kosovo. Together with Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz, we met with President Vucic and President Osmani," Borrell wrote on Twitter.
He also said that three clear demands have been presented.
"Now new local elections, ensuring the participation of Kosovo Serbs in them and starting work on establishing a community of municipalities with a Serb majority in dialogue with the support of the EU. If you don't do it, it will have serious consequences on our relations," said Borrell.
Previously, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told the media that they presented new elections in the north and the formation of the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) as demands in order to calm the situation in Kosovo down.
