"Monsoon rains" ahead: This is the weather forecast until the end of May

Very unstable weather conditions persist, and there is almost daily precipitation throughout Serbia.

Today, but also during the weekend, and until the end of May, it will be partly cloudy, very humid and unstable, occasionally with local showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoons and evenings.

There will also be ideal conditions for local thunderstorms with hailstorms, gale force winds and very heavy downpours.

In areas of thunderstorms, over 30 millimeters of rain per square meter is expected to fall in a very short period of time. This could result in the drainage and sewerage systems not being able to accept a large amount of stormwater, which would lead to urban flooding and flash floods, rather than flooding of rivers.

Otherwise, throughout Serbia, from today until the end of May, 20 to 40 millimeters of rain will be falling per square meter, in places, in a smaller area, from 40 to 80 millimeters.

Morning temperatures in the following days will range from 10 to 16°C, while the daily highs will be from 21 to 27°C.

Because of the increased air humidity, the weather will be very sultry.

Unstable conditions with local showers and thunderstorms are expected daily in the Belgrade area as well, but with longer sunny periods.

Otherwise, this time of year is characteristically very unstable and often with daily showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms with hail, stormy winds and heavy downpours are very common. These processes are especially pronounced at the end of spring and beginning of summer.
