President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said last night that Serbia has 540 million cubic meters of gas reserves, and that it will try to increase that number to 600 million cubic meters by winter.

"At the moment, we have 540 million cubic meters of gas in reserve. We will not waste that. We will look to increase it by winter, if we can, up to 600 million cubic meters, to be safe. This would allow us additional security because of TE-TO Pancevo and TE-TO New Sad, and regarding electricity," Vucic told RTS, Tanjug is reporting.

Vucic added that he would on Wednesday morning receive all the results regarding oil and oil derivatives in order to ensure that Serbia has 90 day reserves for the winter.

"So that the citizens of Serbia can rest easy on that issue. Their state is taking care of it," concluded Vucic.

The president of Serbia in this way commented on the statement by the Qatari Minister of Energy that "only one thing can save Europe and humanity from a catastrophic scenario, and that is another warm winter."
