Policeman suspected of murder in Priboj still searched for: It's thought he crossed border with her help
The search for Igor A., a police officer suspected of murdering Ervin C. from Priboj, has so far lasted three days, and the locals believe that he has left Serbia, i.e. - that he fled across the border with the help of a young woman who works at a border crossing.
"They are looking for him in Priboj and Prijepolje, but we have a lot of 'wild' (unofficial) border crossings, so he could have easily crossed to Bosnia and Herzegovina or Montenegro. According to what people are saying he crossed the state border illegally near Rudo, across the Uvac River," a local in Prijepolje told RINA.
Interrogations of his family, friends and witnesses of the bloody attack, which Igor A. is suspected of having committed in the night between Saturday and Sunday in a well-known bar in Priboj, are ongoing.
So far, three persons have been arrested after being identified as his helpers.
Among them, as unofficially stated, is the young woman who works at a border crossing.
He approached the table and hit a man with metal brass knuckles
According to eyewitnesses, Igor A. came to his native Priboj to spend the weekend and was with a colleague, standing at the bar. At one point, Igor approached Ervin C. and started arguing with him. After the altercartion, he suddenly started hitting him in the head with a metal brass knuckles until he was left lying motionless.
Screaming started in the cafe, with somebody shouting, "Don't, Igor, you'll kill him" heard in the background.
The victim has no parents, he lived alone, and the funeral will be organized by his sisters, uncles and other relatives.
In Priboj, everyone has only words of praise for him, with people saying that he was a calm, decent and exemplary young man.
