The First Basic Public pPosecutor's Office in Belgrade is determining whether M.K., the mother of a boy who carried out a mass shooting at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School, had committed the criminal offense of neglecting and abusing a minor.

The Prosecutor's Office has sent a request to the Belgrade police to collect the necessary information by questioning the suspect M.K., to interview a pedagogue and a psychologist employed by the school, as well as that all other necessary measures and actions be taken in order to fully ascertain the facts.

Also, the City Center for Social Welfare has been ordered to produce a diagnostic assessment of the functioning of the family of the minor, K.K., and a report about this is to be submitted to the prosecutor's office, as well as to determine whether the said family was previously in the records of that institution.

After the police and the City Center for Social Welfare submit their reports to the prosecution, the public will be informed without delay about the further course of the proceedings and the decisions that will be made.

9 children and a school guard were killed in the mass shooting in Belgrade earlier this month. The suspect in this crime is a 13-year-old boy, K.K.
