Young men attack children on a sports playground in Podgorica: Several boys injured
An eight-year-old boy and several of his peers were injured on Friday afternoon, when a group of young men and women attacked them on a sports field in Podgorica, Montenegro.
According to unofficial information from the Parents.me portal, young men, some of whom were adults, attacked the children, aged eight to 11, who were playing in a part of the area, hitting them with their fists, slapping them, and one of the children was thrown over the fence as he was trying to escape from the scene.
Two young women also participated in this assault, and the children stated that, after beating them, the attackers did not allow them to leave the field, the RTCG portal reported.
A boy's mother said she found the child soiled and bloody sitting on the playground.
"When I first asked him what happened, he said, obviously still in shock, that they were just playing. After that, he started crying and told me that they were beaten by some guys who were smoking, and there were two girls with them. He told me that one of them slapped him, that they punched them on the head and in the back, that they threw his friend over the fence when he tried to climb it to escape.
This was all repeated in a statement given to a police officer, who instructed us to go and file a report. The doctor noted the injuries, redness and swelling caused by blows inflicted with fists on the head, neck and back," says the boy's mother.
The police, they say, acted urgently and in cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, further actions are being taken.
The case was reported to the police by the parents of two of the victims, and eyewitnesses of this event have beeen questioned during the past two days, based on these reports.
