First photo of Uros, arrested on suspicion of committing a massacre near Mladenovac last night
21-year-old Uros B. was arrested in the village of Vinjiste near Kragujevac, eight hours after an active police pursuit for him had been launched.
He is suspected of last night committing a massacre near Mladenovac, a Belgrade suburban municipality, when he shot and killed 8 people and wounded 13 more.
The tragedy occurred around midnight in the night between Thursday and Friday.
After the act, he escaped, and was this morning around 8 o'clock arrested at a relatives' house where he was hiding.
The police are treating the event as a a terrorist act. The eight victims lost their lives in the villages of Malo Orasje and Dubona, a 22-year-old off-duty policeman and his sister among them, Telegraf.rs has learned.
According to what is known thus far Uros B. was in a school yard with his friends where they were having a barbecue at night, but they got into an altercation. He went back home and fetched an automatic rifle.
He first shot at his barbecue companions, and then got into a Mercedes and allegedly continued shooting at people randomly from a moving car.
The search for him lasted all night and involved 600 police officers and helicopter units.
