Belgrade school mass shooter had "kill list, school floor plan, priority targets": Crime planned for 1 month

A student from a Vracar, Belgrade, elementary school, K.K. (14), called the police to say that he had shot at several people, Veselin Milic, head of the police department for the city of Belgrade, said during a news conference held today at the Serbian Government HQ.

Milic added that the suspected shooter took the weapons from his father's apartment and brought it to school along with four Molotov cocktails.

"He planned this for a month. K.K. planned it for a long time, he did not disclose the motive. He took the firearm from his father's apartment and brought it (to school) along with four Molotov cocktails," the police official told the press.

Telegraf.rs has learned that the sketch - a hand-drawn floor plan of a part of the school - and "a kill list" were found in his bedroom, on a desk.

"He had a list. The sketch looks like something from a video game or a horror movie, which indicates that he planned in detail, taking into account the classrooms in the school, which classroom he would enter and how and which child he would murder," said Milic.

The tragedy has left Serbia stunned.

"We have no words faced with this tragedy. As members of the MUP (Interior Ministry), it is our obligation to (report) the real and factual situation. On May 3, at 08:42, we received a call by an unknown person who introduced themselves as K.K. and said that he had shot several people in the elementary school Vladislav Ribnikar. As a result, eight students, seven girls and one boy, were killed. Upon arrival at the school, members of the MUP detained the killer. He had been planning this for a long time. He chose today because the history classroom was near the school exit. He had four Molotov cocktails in his bag, he shot the guard from (a pistol in) his backpack as soon as he arrived at the school," Milic said.

According to Milic, the suspected killer planned the massacre in detail.

"I have taken part in thousands of crime scene investigations, this is unheard of in Serbian society. According to data collected so far, the child has been planning the event for a long time. He took the pistols from his father's apartment, he also took Molotov cocktails with him. He first shot the security guard, then a schoolgirl on duty. After the crime, he called the police," said Milic.

The father has been arrested

Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic also spoke at the news conference and presented some previously unknown information.

"The father of the perpetrator of this heinous crime has been arrested, both guns were legally licensed by the male parent. He claims that they were locked in a safe with a code and that the child obviously knew the code."

"The child had three full frames with 15 bullets in each."
