Drama in central Cacak: Rottweilers attack and bite women, their pets and man who tried to help; one pet dies

An incident occurred on the city promenade in Cacak when two Rottweiler dogs were walking around the central parts of the town without their owners and without muzzles. According to eyewitnesses, they attacked two women, one of which got bitten.

"First they attacked a lady who was walking with her dog, and then another who was also with her pet. When citizens who were sitting in a nearby cafe saw what was happening, they immediately rushed to help and somehow managed to drive away the enraged dogs and thus save a fellow citizen and her pet from more serious injuries," one of the eyewitnesses told RINA earlier on Friday.

The woman was bitten on the cheek and arm by the Rottweilers, while her Maltese was bitten on the leg. The lady was treated in the emergency room, and the dog was taken to the vet's. During the day, the news arrived that the Maltese had succumbed to the wounds. The second woman and her dog were also injured, as was a man who came to their rescue.

"I shudder when I think about what could have happened. We don't know whether these dogs have owners or not and what is happening with them now. This must be checked and resolved immediately, so that, God forbid, nobody else gets attacked," eyewitnesses added.

The competent authorities have been informed about the whole case. Later on Friday, the prosecution announced it had launched proceedings agaunst a 70-year-old man, the owner of the dangerous dogs, that escaped from his yard unrestrained and started attacking people and their animals in the street.
