Petkovic: Albanian politicians are preparing an alibi to avoid the obligation to form the ZSO
The ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) must be formed in accordance with the four signed agreements from 2013 and 2015
Today, Albanian politicians continued to prepare an alibi for avoiding the obligation to form the ZSO, so they are already declaring the talks in Brussels on May 2 as failed, said the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Dr. Petar Petkovic.
"Pristina's clear intention is to run away from the talks and the process of formation of the ZSO, so it is setting meaningless and impossible conditions, just to run away from the obligations arising from and assumed in the dialogue in Brussels," Petkovic said in a statement on Thursday.
As he pointed out, Belgrade will neither de facto nor de jure recognize so-called Kosovo, but the formation of the ZSO is a condition for all conditions for normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and a prerequisite for all further steps in that direction.
"That's why Glauk Konjufc, who barely heads the assembly of so-called Kosovo, has no mandate to dismiss the composition of the Serbian Management Team for the drafting of the ZSO Statute, so it's better for him to avoid this kind of thing, because this composition of the Serbian team has been confirmed by his legal representative instances as well", stated the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
"To repeat, the ZSO must be formed in accordance with the four signed agreements from 2013 and 2015, and for the sake of reminding everyone, the First Brussels Agreement was ratified even by the assembly of so-called Kosovo, now headed by Konjufca, so maybe he wants to say that and the mandate of that body began with him?," Petkovic concluded in the statement.
