"Switzerland gave me custody": Masan, who took his son away, now claims this in statement for Telegraf

"I have custody of my son. Switzerland gave it to me."

This is what Masan Lubarda, in a brief and sharp manner, told Telegraf after his wife Jelena Abramovic (32) accused him of illegally taking their two-and-a-half-year-old son to Switzerland on (Orthodox) Good Friday, without the toddler's passport, and without her consent.

Lubarda said that he was granted custody in January as a temporary measure until the divorce proceedings have been completed.

Competent institutions announced that they are already working on solving this case.

After Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said that his ministry is doing everything they can Consul General of Serbia in Switzerland Mihajlo Saulic got involved.

"As Minister Dacic said, we had not been officially informed until the moment they met directly, so the ministry informed us. The consulate acts on the order of state authorities who will gather all the facts," said the consul.

Saulic could not share any details of the case, nor whether the consulate is in touch with the father.

"We are not familiar with the details, we do not have any official information yet. Once all the facts are established and they let us know, we will have more information."

Since both the parents have a residence permit in Switzerland, and are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, the question arises as to whose jurisdiction will apply here.

"They are our citizens and we will act in accordance with the instructions in Belgrade. Everything that our institutions expect from us, we will implement," concluded Saulic.
