A new round of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina at the highest level will continue on May 2, when the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the prime minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, will meet in Brussels, EU spokesman Peter Stano has confirmed.

The European Union, as a mediator in the dialogue, has established a joint monitoring committee, which includes self-proclaimed Kosovo as well as Serbia as parties to the dialogue on normalization of relations.

The task of the joint monitoring committee is to monitor the implementation of the agreement on the road to normalization of relations between self-proclaimed Kosovo and Serbia and its implementation annex.

"This is the concrete implementation of what was agreed 30 days ago in Ohrid at the meeting between President Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti. This Joint Monitoring Committee will be chaired by the Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak. Kosovo will be represented by their ambassador in Brussels, and Serbia by its chief negotiator. The Committee will meet regularly in Brussels, and the details will be finalized and adopted at the first meeting of the Committee, which will be held after the next high-level meeting planned here in Brussels for May 2," said Stano, reports Euronews Serbia.

The last time Vucic and Kurti met was in Ohrid on March 18 and then their meeting lasted 12 hours.

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said at the time that practical steps had been agreed on how to implement the February agreement from Brussels on normalization of relations between Serbia and self-proclaimed Kosovo.
