Inflation in Serbia is lower than in these six countries of the European Union
Year-on-year inflation in February was 15.4 percent
Year-on-year inflation in Serbia in both January and February was higher than in the European Union, but also lower than in six countries in that bloc, according to the latest edition of the Macroeconomic Analysis and Trends (MAT).
In this magazine published by the Economic Institute in Belgrade and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, year-on-year inflation, according to the concept of the harmonized consumer price index, was 15.2 percent in Serbia in January and 15.4 percent in February, while in the EU as whole inflation in January was 10 percent, and in February 9.9 percent.
Year-on-year inflation in Serbia in January was lower than in Poland, where it was 15.9 percent, Lithuania, 18.5 percent, Estonia, 18.6 percent, the Czech Republic, 19.1 percent, Latvia, 21.4 percent, and Hungary. 26.2 percent.
In February, according to MAT, only Slovakia had year-on-year inflation like Serbia, 15.4 percent, while six countries of the European Union had higher year-on-year inflation than our country.
These are Lithuania and Poland, where February inflation was 17.2 percent, Estonia with 17.8 percent, the Czech Republic, 18.4 percent, Latvia, 20.1 percent and Hungary, 25.8 percent.
