Vucevic: Army Day, presentation of everything at our disposal, large number of candidates for special units

Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic spoke about the upcoming Army Day and the parade where the army will display its weapons, as well as about an international military exercise. On that occasion, he pointed out that there are more applicants for special units and that the competition was successful, as well as that on Army Day, they will display everything that the Serbian Army has at its disposal.

Minister Vucevic was on B92 when he said that the Serbian Army is preparing for an international military exercise called "Platinum Wolf" which will be held in June.

"There is no controversy, hidden messages and signals. The assessment of the military leadership, the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense was to appeal to the Government of the Republic of Serbia to allow that one international military exercise, the largest in the territory of our country. It is a public decision of the Republic of Serbia. The exercise will be in the south of Serbia, with 11 partner countries, in June this year. Nor is it an indication, hidden or public, that Serbia is abandoning the course of military neutrality. It is the assessment of the Ministry of Defense and the state that this military exercise is useful for members of the Serbian Army, who strengthen their capabilities and level of training through this type of military exercises. We were guided, above all, by the benefits and importance for our army, and the international reputation of the Serbian Army.

I am proud that our country took and maintained that course of military neutrality, which is highly contested today. No one is thrilled when you say that. Both of them, the third and the fifth, think that you should be aligned somewhere, because if you are not then you are de facto against their military alliance. We say very loudly and clearly everything that is our policy. There are no secret things, pacts. It is known what the political position of Serbia is, it is known what our stance is. Vucic has not betrayed and will not betray Kosovo," stressed Vucevic and added that he is very satisfied with the completed competition for admission to the three most elite formations of the Serbian Army, NSuzivo reports.

As for Army Day, April 22, you will see a display of everything that our army has at its disposal, and all citizens will be able to see how much the army has strengthened, how much the state has helped, and that is something that will make sincere patriots happy," he concluded.
