Two Albanian Air Force helicopters transported four Serbian mountaineers on Sunday, one of whom fell and was injured on the crossing from Valbona to Theth, Albanian Defense Minister Niko Peleshi has announced.

He wrote on Facebook that the injured Serbian mountaineer was transported to the hospital and is under the doctors' supervision, and that the other three mountaineers, fortunately, were not injured.

The police announced that their teams, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and the medical team from the Ministry of Health, came to the aid of a Serbian tourist who fell from on Mount Jezerce and could not move, as he had injured his leg.

Because of inaccessible terrain and snow, the police asked the Ministry of Defense to send a helicopter to transport the injured mountaineer to a hospital in Tirana.

The injured man was transported by helicopter to the hospital, where he was treated and his life is not in danger, writes Reporteri.
