Alcaraz is four steps away from dethroning Djokovic again: These tennis players can prevent it

The second-ranked tennis player in the world, Carlos Alcaraz, has qualified for the round of 16 at the Indian Wells Masters by beating Tallon Griekspoor 7-6(4), 6-3, so now he has four steps left to make to win the title and take the top spot on the ATP list from Novak Djokovic.

The match against the Dutchman lasted 102 minutes, and could have easily gone the other way, because Griekspoor suffered only one break in this match, while he failed to use his two chances.

Only a trophy in the desert would bring Alcaraz back to the head of the tennis caravan, and his next opponent will be Jack Draper, who defeated his more experienced countryman Andy Murray in two sets.

Those who could prevent this transition and the fall of Djokovic from the first place are quite well established at the very top.

If Alcaraz defeats Draper, whoever wins between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Tommy Paul would already have a tough job in the quarterfinals.

In the semi-finals, as projected, they would come across Taylor Fritz or Jannik Sinner, but there are also Stan Wawrinka and Marton Fucsovics in the running.

Even in the lower part of the draw, there are still dangerous trump cards, but many see Daniil Medvedev or Andrey Rublev in the final.
