Momirovic: We made a mistake by stopping the lithium story

Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic says that one of the biggest failures of the previous Government of Serbia was that it stopped "the story" related to lithium exploitation.

He assessed that the members of the government, including himself, did not show themselves to be mature enough to finish the lithium story that was started, since, as he put it, it is a natural chance for Serbia.

"It may be a historical responsibility and I voted in favor of that decision. I would also like to remind you that some representatives of foreign countries supported populist protests against exploitation of lithium," Momirovic said at the Kopaonik Business Forum.

He stressed that the decision of the Government of Serbia to stop the lithium story was not in the interest of our citizens.

"We will see how that story unfolds in the coming period, but we cannot ignore the perspectives it opens up," said Momirovic.
