New version of the indictment against Thaci and three of his associates published
The Prosecutor's Office of the Specialist Chambers (KLA crimes court) has published a new version of the indictment against the former political leader of the former so-called KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army"), Hashim Thaci, as well as three of his associates, where the names of 102 victims are listed.
In the new version of the indictment, the names of more than a hundred people who were killed or whose bodies were never found were listed, and the crimes mentioned in the new document date from March 1998 to September 1999, reports Tanjug.
This document, which was published on the court's website on Wednesday, was declassified on February 27.
The victims are of both Serb and Albanian nationality, and the four leaders of the so-called KLA bear individual responsibility since, as stated by the Prosecutor's Office, they are charged with crimes committed against hundreds of civilians.
The victims were killed in several locations in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in two locations in the north of Albania.
The crimes alleged in the new document took place between March 1998 and September 1999.
The trial of Thaci, Rexhep Selimi, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, who have been detained in The Hague since the end of 2020, will begin on April 3, and the Prosecution has so far secured more than 300 witnesses in that case.
They are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity, including illegal detention, torture, murders and disappearances that happened from March 1998 until September 1999.
