The Orthodox Easter Lent has began in Serbia - the strictest of all fasts - and it was preceded by Bela Nedelja (Serbian for, "White Week"), to which many ancient customs are attached. Vide is elderly resident of Mokra Gora, also known as the oldest influencer in Serbia, and has decided to share a part of these traditions with young people.

"Today's youth know little about some old customs, and I always try to show them how things used to be done. What is the right things to do, so to speak, and what is not. One of the customs before Lent is that it's good to go for a swing, it is called pokladno (Serbian for, "carnival") swinging. Swings would be attached to some native tree. They could be ordinary swings, or improvised like this one of mine. It is believed that this brings prosperity and fertility in the coming period," Vidomir Vide Kojadinovic told RINA.

The influencer from Mokra Gora is 73 years old and one of the most popular people on Facebook from the western part of Serbia. His videos have thousands of views and he is the best proof that being authentic is enough to be popular on social networks, because that's what most successful.

"I worked with people for a long time as a vendor. When I retired, I bought sheep and goats, I wanted to take a break from people. But, one day, my grandson brought me a mobile phone and said, grandpa, you were always modern, you must be now too. They gave me that and showed me, and they also created a Facebook account for me. I didn't eat or sleep for four days, I tried to learn how it all works, I had that 'close everything' icon, it saved me several times. The wife had already called the children and said that I was just staring at the phone. After four days, I decided to post a story on Facebook and that's how it all started," this influencer recounts his beginnings with a big smile.

Vidomir left nothing to chance, so he created a selfie stick that can be said to be unique not only in Serbia, but in the entire world. He placed a piece of tin on a tree, into which he inserts his phone, clicks on the countdown, assumes a pose and - records. That's how this video of the swinging on Bele Poklade ("White Slavic Carnival") came to be.
