The prosecutor in Ana Walshe case tells Telegraf.rs why her husband Brian's court date got postponed
The hearing of Brian Walshe, accused of murdering his wife Ana Walshe, which was scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, has been postponed for April 4.
The Norfolk District Attorney's office announced this on Monday.
The case will continue April 4 in the Quincy District Court.
Norfolk District Attorney Mike Morrissey's office explained for Telegraf.rs why the hearing was postponed.
"The reasons for the delay are of administrative nature," the prosecution's spokesperson David Traub confirmed for our portal.
He said that there will be no event on March 1 in connection with this case.
Brian Walshe was supposed to appear before the judge again on Wednesday, March 1, after his lawyer on February 9 requested that the hearing be postponed.
Walshe is charged with murdering his wife Ana Walshe, who was born in Belgrade.
She was last seen on January 1 and was reported missing on January 4.
Prosecutors said Walshe dismembered his wife and disposed of her body. During the investigation, investigators found 10 garbage bags with bloody items, including a saw and an ax.
Brian Walshe was first arrested for obstructing the investigation, and then charged with the murder.
After the grand jury indicts Walshe, the case against him will be transferred to Norfolk Superior Court, The Boston Globe reports.
Prosecutors said earlier this month that could happen by mid-March.
