Mega basketball players played a friendly match in Belgrade on Tuesday evening with the Russian national team, which has not played for almost a year due to well-known problems and the war with Ukraine.

The Russians beat the finalist of the Radivoje Korac Cup with a score of 85-74, and the most effective players in their team were Anton Kvitkovsky with 17 points, Andrei Martyuk with 16 points and six rebounds, Sergei Balashov with 13, and Andrei Lopatin and Vladislav Yemchenko with nine points each.

On the other hand, Andrija Jelavic scored 18 for Mega, Miljenovic had one less, Cerovina added 12, and Jovic 11.

"The result doesn't matter. This was an unofficial friendly match. It's a pity that the hall was empty, but the host has their reasons and we respect that. Thanks to Mega for agreeing to play the game in the first place, this experience will mean a lot to our young team," said the coach of the Russians, Zoran Lukic, as reported by local media.

The next match the Russian national team will play be against FMP on February 23, also in Belgrade.
