The president said that our Army "must be much stronger"

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is currently visiting the UAE, where he also went to the international fair of arms and military equipment IDEX 2023.

Among other things, he said that Serbia will continue to invest in the defense industry and buy from foreigners, but also that there is interest in our weapons at the fair in Abu Dhabi.

"Why is everyone buying our PASARS now? Because you're integrating multiple weapons into that one armored combat vehicle. When we integrate Mistrals and some other lower caliber machine guns on top of that, then it's a tremendously powerful weapon. These system integrations are done everywhere and everyone wants to buy our weapons" said Vucic during a tour of the fair and added that many of our companies - Jugoimport SDPR and private companies - are currently present there.

"Our Army must be much stronger, our Army is incomparably stronger than it was. This has to do with the defense industry and we have to invest a lot of money in both the defense industry and the military."

The president also said that last night he spoke about this with Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

"We are trying not to damage anyone's interest in the country, and to drastically increase our operational and functional abilities," he pointed out.

IDEX 2023 is one of the largest and most important fairs where the latest equipment, innovations and technologies in the international defense sector are displayed.

During his stay in Abu Dhabi, President Vucic will meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, as well as with other officials.
