Surgeon suspected of beating his wife has bleeding fingers: Nikola's colleagues reveal a gruesome detail
Nikola Ostojic (48), a surgeon working for the Military Medical Academy (VMA) who is suspected of brutally abusing his wife I.O. (42) for 27 days during which he was on sick leave, did not work because he developed a skin disease on his hands, his colleagues are telling Telegraf.
"He didn't work for a month, he was on sick leave because he has a disease that causes the skin on his fingers to bleed and he lost the feeling in his hands," they told our portal.
I.O. had surgery on her elbow to repair the injury that occurred, it is believed, as a consequence of the abuse.
"She had surgery for her elbow and is recovering," our source told us.
Previously, the Third Basic Court in Belgrade ordered custody of up to 30 days for Nikola Ostojic (48), a surgeon suspected of brutally beating his wife I.O. (42).
The order came at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, so that he would not repeat the crime or influence the witnesses, it was announced.
The Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office, where the surgeon was questioned, also issued a statement about the case.
"Nikola Ostojic was arrested on February 2 by the police in Zemun on the order of the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office on suspicion that, from the beginning of January to the beginning of February, he repeatedly kicked his wife in the body and head and hit her with his hands, with various objects, inflicting severe physical injuries, was strangling her with a cable, pulling her hair, threatening, humiliating and insulting her, and inflicting injuries on her head, thighs, neck, torso, hands, breaking four of her ribs and the left ulnar bone and inflicting severe physical injuries. The suspect defended himself by remaining silent," the prosecution announced.
During the time he was abusing his wife, the suspect was on leave from work due to an illness.
