Szijjarto promises: Hungary is ready to provide gas to Serbia
In case of energy security needs, Hungary is ready to, before the next heating season, provide Serbia with up to 500 million cubic meters of gas from storage, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said today in Belgrade.
After a conversation with Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic, Szijjarto said that in 2022, 4.8 billion cubic meters of gas arrived from Serbia to Hungary via the Balkan Stream.
He stressed that this is a joint, partnership-achieved result, and assessed that Serbia is a trustworthy, fair and correct country for supplying gas to Hungary.
Szijjarto pointed out that EU sanctions cause serious damage to countries, and that energy sanctions conflict the security of energy supplies.
He said that Hungary has received an exemption from sanctions for oil and gas, so it can import them and have a secured supply.
