These are intersections in Belgrade where automatic red light running cameras will be installed
From Friday, February 10, eight cameras at five locations in Belgrade will be automatically detecting red light running.
According to Blic, the following intersections and pedestrian crossings will be covered:
- Trgovacka and Jablanicka streets intersection in Cukarica
- Francuska and Gospodar Jovanova streets intersection
- Mihajla Pupina Boulevard and Milentija Popovica intersection
- Despota Stefana Boulevard and Cvijiceva Street intersection
- Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard near Djeram Market
As Blic has learned, other cameras at Belgrade intersections will be successively included in the system in the coming period.
The system is automated and there is no possibility of "human factor" influence.
The Law on Road Traffic Safety prescribes a fine in the range of 20,000 to 40,000 dinars or a prison sentence of up to 30 days, 6 penalty points and a protective measure of a ban on driving a motor vehicle for at least three months for red light running, i.e. not stopping in front of a pedestrian crossing regulated by traffic lights.
