Serb List: Formation of ZSO is a demand of Serb people from Kosovo and Metohija

At the meeting dedicated to the Community of Serb Municipalities held at the US Embassy in Pristina, the Serb List reiterated that the formation of the ZSO is an obligation of Pristina undertaken in the form of an international agreement, and then ratified in the assembly by a two-thirds majority, and that it is an institution needed for the survival of the Serb people rather than somebody's whim.

At the meeting about the formation of the ZSO, its competences, functioning and challenges, the representatives of the Serb List clearly stressed that the formation of the ZSO must be carried out as agreed in Brussels in 2013 and 2015 and that the Management Team is the only one responsible for drafting its Statute, and no one else, reports Tanjug.

"It was especially underlined that it is necessary for the Community to have executive powers, i.e. be exactly as agreed in Brussels during the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, and that its establishment is an obligation that must not be avoided because it needs to be the umbrella institution of the Serb people that will protect individual and collective rights of our people," the Serb List announced after the meeting at the US Embassy.

At the meeting, representatives of political parties of Serbs and the non-governmental sector reiterated their position on the need to form the ZSO, which, as they stated, "once again confirmed that this is the demand of the Serb people from Kosovo and Metohija, but it was also more than clearly presented that Albin Kurti is speaking untruths when he says that the Serbs do not want the Community of Serb Municipalities."
