Petkovic: We know what Pristina's preparing, we'll do everything to protect our people in Kosovo and Metohija
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said today that the services of the Serbian state are doing their job as best as possible, that Belgrade knows what Pristina is planning and preparing, and that it will do everything to protect the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.
"We are ready to preserve the peace, but also to respond to any kind of threat coming from Pristina," Petkovic told RTS.
He stressed that the (March) Pogrom and "Operation Storm" will not happen again, that our people should know that they have the state of Serbia behind them, which is ready to protect the lives of its people.
Petkovic said that the Serb people are not attacking anyone, that we do not want conflict, while the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, wants to attack unarmed Serbs.
"We are ready to preserve the peace, but also to respond to any kind of threat coming from Pristina," Petkovic stressed.
He pointed out that the barricades are a democratic peaceful means for our people to express their dissatisfaction with being terrorized by Albin Kurti every day. According to Petkovic, the fact that the Serbian Army's combat readiness has been raised to the level of the use of armed forces, as well as of MUP (police) units, is Serbia's response to the immediate threat of war and everything that Pristina is doing, considering that it has raised the level of its combat readiness, preparing its units to attack the Serb people in the north of Kosovo and Metohija.
"It's become unbearable, we're doing everything to preserve the peace, above all President Aleksandar Vucic, but when on the other side you have Kurti who is declaring that it is a matter of time before they remove the barricades, that it will be connected to murders, then that's a threat," said Petkovic.
He also added that Pristina is trying to create a narrative of freeing the north of Kosovo and Metohija from some criminals.
"These criminals are our mothers, relatives, brothers. They are not criminals, they are expressing their protest because apparently there is no one in Europe to hear their voice saying they are disenfranchised," said the director of the government office.
