Vucevic: Serbia to have 5,000 instead of 1,500 special forces, they will smash ill intent to smithereens
Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said that last night, he and General Mojsilovic, the chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, received a task, an order from the president of the Republic as commander-in-chief to, by the end of 2023, increase the number of members of the Serbian Army's special units, i.e. those who will receive special training, from 1,500 to 5,000.
This means that the Serbian Army will have 5,000 highly trained and prepared soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers who have completed the most modern, up-to-date, theoretical and practical training, who have the most up-to-date weapons and military equipment and who are ready to defend the fatherland, perform any task at any time and in every part of our territory.
Those 5,000 soldiers will be ready to respond to all the challenges facing our fatherland.
"Those 5,000 specially trained soldiers of the Serbian Army will be the strongest fist that will smash to smithereens the ill wishes and goals of those who do not like our country and who want to harm our people and our citizens. Both the Serbian Army and the Ministry of Defense will fulfill the task given to us by the president of the Republic and by the end of 2023 we will have much better paid members of those special units, who will be even better equipped, even better trained, so that they are always up to the task of protecting their Serbian fatherland."
