Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija are on the barricades for the 17th day, demanding the release of their unlawfully arrested compatriots, the withdrawal of special units of the Kosovo police from the north of the province and the canceling of secret arrest listes targeting Serbs.

The morning is calm after last night's shooting in Zubin Potok, reports RTS.

KFOR confirmed that last night there was a shooting incident in Zubin Potok, adding that no one was injured and there was no material damage.

A KFOR statement said that shots were fired near one of their patrols, Pristina-based Koha reported, stressing that there were no injuries or material damage.

"We can confirm that a few hours ago a KFOR patrol, while on duty in the vicinity of Zubin Potok, heard and saw several gunshots close to it. There were no injuries and there was no material damage. We are checking the facts from the field and will publish more details later," they stated.

With this statement, KFOR denied allegations of the Pristina media that a unit of that military mission came under attack.

The president of the Serb List, Goran Rakic, denied last night's report by the Pristina media that a KFOR unit was attacked in Zubin Potok. "This is new piece of disinformation in a series that Pristina is putting out, with the aim of drawing KFOR into their dirty games and conflict with the Serb people," Rakic told TV Pink.

He stressed that there was no attack on KFOR, that Serbs respect KFOR because its soldiers are in Kosovo and Metohija in line with UN Resolution 1244.

"The current situation is calm, people are on the barricades," Rakic added.

After a meeting between President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic with Serbian military leadership, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic headed to the town of Raska.

"The tasks that the Serbian Arm and I, as chief of the General Staff, received are precise and clear, and will be fully implemented," Mojsilovic said, adding that the situation is complex and requires the presence of the Serbian Army along the administrative line (between Kosovo and Metohija and central Serbia).

Yesterday, Pristina banned Serbian Patriarch Porfirije from going to the Patriarchate of Pec before (Serbian Orthodox) Christmas.
