Woman dies after breast reduction surgery at private clinic in central Belgrade

A 49-year-old woman died on December 16 after a breast reduction surgery performed at a private clinic in central Belgrade, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has confirmed for Telegraf.

The investigation is ongoing. As we have learned, the Prosecutor's Office ordered the police to submit all the necessary evidence, as well as a medical report. An autopsy was also ordered.

The woman, who arrived from Germany, where she lived, suddenly experienced complications that evening at around 11 pm. Her daughter, who accompanied her to the surgery, was initially told that it went well, but the patient suddenly fell ill.

The private clinic called an ambulance, whose crew tried to resuscitate the woman.

And despite their efforts she died on the way to the Emergency Center, which is located near the clinic. They also tried to resuscitate her in the ER, but unfortunately without success.
