Disgraceful verdict in Novi Sad: Man gets only 3.5 years for killing pedestrian with his car

M.B. (30) from Novi Sad has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for a traffic accident he caused in the neighborhood of Liman in 2018, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

He has also been banned from driving a motor vehicle for a period of three years.

Four years ago, he hit a pedestrian at a crosswalk in Balzakova Street while driving without a license. As an expert determined, he was speeding.

The pedestrian died of severe injuries two months later, while M.B. was charged with committing a serious crime against public traffic safety.

M.B. was not detained during the court process, and has a previous conviction for human trafficking.
