The Serbs have been on the barricades in the north of Kosovo and Metohija for 13 days and are not giving up on their demand to release Dejan Pantic and other Serbs who were arrested on no valid grounds by the Kosovo police, reports Kosovo Online.

The "Crisis Headquarters of the Serb People from the North of Kosovo" invited everyone to come to the protest today because of the threats by Albin Kurti, who in the previous days openly threatened to kill Serbs on the barricades.

"We invite the Serb people living in Kosovo to the largest public protest ever, which will take place on Thursday, December 22 at 12:00 in Rudare near the cross, where our people, consisting of our doctors, professors, teachers, miners, our relatives, neighbors, mothers, sisters, will gather together to send a clear common message that we do not agree with persecution and murders and that the north of Kosovo is neither German nor Kurti's, but the place where we live and where we want to stay and survive," the statement said.

The Kosovo police announced that they established checkpoints for vehicles on the main road Mitrovica-Leposavic, in order to guarantee movement and freedom of movement for everyone without distinction, as well as to prevent criminal activities and smuggling in general, reports Reporteri.

"Management and control of the security situation is still a priority of the Kosovo police and maximum efforts are being made to overcome the tense situation in the north of Mitrovica in just a few days," the statement added.
